More importantly, for people with eye loss, these eyes represented a dream come true: regaining their appearance, confidently communicating again, returning to normal life, rediscovering self-worth, and shining once more.

It was not merely a medical product.

Driven by the passion of a doctor, a medical researcher, and deep empathy for people with eye loss, I knew that no matter what it took, these extraordinary technologies and techniques had to be brought to Vietnam — because Vietnamese people deserve those wonderful things too.

Technology Transfer

BRINGING INTERNATIONAL 3D PROSTHETIC EYE TECHNOLOGY TO VIETNAM

After studying numerous advanced international models, Dr. Hai began the journey of transferring 3D custom prosthetic eye technology to Vietnam. Beyond simply importing equipment or workflows, he carefully selected the finest international techniques and refined them to better suit Vietnamese anatomy, iris colors, and aesthetic preferences. Personalized impression techniques, 3D modeling, multi-layer coloring, and optical polishing were gradually perfected.

And by 2017, for the very first time, internationally standardized 3D custom prosthetic eyes officially became available in Vietnam.

The Establishment

2018 – VIETNAM PROSTHETIC EYE CENTER WAS ESTABLISHED

After years of preparation in expertise, technology, and team development, Vietnam Prosthetic Eye Center was officially founded in 2018 with advanced international technologies and specialized ocular rehabilitation techniques, led by MSc. MD. Phan Hoang Hai and his expert team.

From the very beginning, the center established a clear mission: every prosthetic eye must be fully personalized, highly refined, naturally lifelike, and created with dedication and empathy from medical professionals.

Challenges

OVERCOMING CHALLENGES & BREAKTHROUGH RESULTS:

The early days were far from easy. Public trust was still limited, the concept of 3D custom prosthetic eyes was unfamiliar, and creating a truly high-standard prosthetic eye required immense time, cost, and patience. Yet MSc. MD. Phan Hoang Hai and his colleagues remained determined to do things properly, ethically, and wholeheartedly.

Then came the first successful rehabilitation cases. Tears of happiness and smiles after years of insecurity became the greatest reward of all. Those were the moments when every effort was finally worth it.
